
Island of Hope - stationary Center for women addicts
Location:
Vurpar is a small village which was documentary certificate for the first
time in the year 1296.
The Evangelic Church which lies here from Medieval Eve, hosts the place where
the center "Island of Hope" is functioning.
The center is ruled by psychologist Crina Lupea.
Therapeutically Instruments:
- medical assistance
- individual and group cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy
- every patient share other patients life-experience and obtain progressively
self-trust and the belief that the abstinence is possible.
- family counseling when it's necessary
- spiritual assistance/counseling
- ergo therapy, 4 or 5 hours/day - this must check and re-establish patient's
sense of responsibility and work. During this working hours, patients do beautiful
handicraft objects such cushions, towels, etc. Also patients may choose to
work in the garden or feed and taking care for the domestic animals.
Main Therapeutically Objectives:
- making the patients aware about their alcoholism and all bad consequences
related to this illness
- improving their
way to express emotions or feelings
- increasing their motivation for therapy
- increasing patient's tolerance versus frustration, teaching the patients
new ways to resolve without alcohol or drugs different critical situations
which may provide them anxiety and stress
